Vinyl Wonder is flammable and produces harsh vapors. Always make sure to use our products in a well ventilated area, and do not smoke while painting. If you’re airbrushing indoors, use a spray booth equipped with both a fan and an intake vent that can handle your level of work output. The last thing you want to do is hotbox yourself in a room with flammable paint fumes. Keep children and animals away from your painting area. Extinguish all sources of ignition, such as pilot lights or open flames. Wear a NIOSH certified organic vapor respirator during use.

If you use Vinyl Wonder on a regular basis, we recommend upgrading to a Full-Face NIOSH Certified Solvent Vapor Respirator. This will not only protect your lungs, but also your eyes. Skin is also very absorbent, and so we recommend wearing thick latex gloves, particularly when handling Vinyl Wonder Thinner.

For full-time vinyl painters who prefer to paint in comfort, consider investing in a Powered Air Purifying Respirator. Here at Vinyl Wonder, we purchase all of our respiratory protection from AIRGAS. If you need any guidance on this, feel free to contact us. Keeping our customers safe is very important to us, and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.

When you have finished painting for the day, make sure to clean up all solvent-soaked rags, and dispose of them properly so that they don’t cause a flash fire. All Vinyl Wonder products are only hazardous in their liquid state. Once the paint has fully cured and excess solvent has evaporated, Vinyl Wonder is non-toxic and does not off-gas. If you choose to dispose of our products in their hazardous liquid state, you will need to check your local regulations in order to stay in compliance, since every state has their own rules regarding hazardous waste disposal. We’ve listed below the steps that we personally take in order to safely dispose of Vinyl Wonder products…

  1. Obtain a small metal trashcan with a tight fitting lid, and line it with an appropriately sized resealable bag.

  2. Fill the bottom of the trash bag with vermiculite or other fire-resistant absorbent like kitty litter.

  3. Dispose of paint/thinner-soaked rags in this trashcan, and allow all solvents and paints to either evaporate or fully dry before taking out and disposing the sealed bag in an outdoor trash bin. TIP: to speed up the drying process of a used paint rag or shop towel, lay it out flat within your spray booth for several minutes before disposing in the metal trashcan.

  4. Our glass paint bottles and metal thinner cans should either be saved and reused, or cleaned thoroughly to be recycled. Only use our thinners to clean paint out of the bottles, and please be sure to allow a little time for the thinner to evaporate before placing into your recycling bin.

  5. Never dump thinner or paint down your drain or sewer.

WARNING: While in their liquid state, Vinyl Wonder products contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects. Keep bottles upright and closed, and store in a cool, dry place that is out of reach of children and animals. If accidental eye contact or ingestion occurs with any of our products, contact a poison control center immediately.
